Solving Common Problems

The problems that you or your chat users are likely to encounter with Chat Service will typically relate to server and channel access. Inability to connect to a chat server can indicate a problem with the chat network, a specific server, or the server's configuration. A server access problem can also be limited to a particular set of clients, such as IRC clients or clients from a particular domain, or to a user's logon mode (anonymous or authenticated).

Restrictions in the Chat Service configuration can also cause access problems for users. For example, the configuration might include a user class that bans groups of users, limits user access, and so on.

Note Some problems may be beyond your control. For example, chat server or client connections that depend on the Internet are subject to network failures, congestion, and router problems.
