Working with MMC Consoles

Microsoft Management Console files (files with an .msc extension) specify the console tree in the namespace, snap-ins, extensions, and arrangement of windows that define an MMC console. To create a console, you first create the tree of snap-ins and nodes that define the namespace. Then you create windows for the different views of the namespace required to complete the tasks associated with the console. After you save a console file, you can deliver it to your users or post it on your network.
