Dirsync Server Installation

You can use a Microsoft Exchange Server as a dirsync server to update and distribute address information to remote dirsync requestors. Setting up a dirsync server includes the following:

• Create and configure a dirsync server for the local Microsoft Exchange Server site.
• Define remote directory synchronization requestor objects in the Microsoft Exchange Server directory that correspond to each requestor that will use this server.
• Configure a requestor on each system that will use this server.

When you have completed the tasks in this section, you should start the directory synchronization process using the procedures in "Starting and Stopping Directory Synchronization" later in this chapter.

Creating a dirsync server

The minimum requirement for creating a dirsync server object is specifying a display name in the General property page for the dirsync server object.

1. In the Administrator window, choose Connections.
2. From the File menu, choose New Other, and then choose Dirsync Server.
