You can configure the Microsoft Exchange Server dirsync requestor to send address updates to the MS Mail directory synchronization server. An MS Mail directory server processes directory updates a maximum of once a day. You should set the dirsync requestor schedule to coincide with your MS Mail directory server schedule. Updates should be received by the dirsync server prior to the scheduled process time for the server. You can check the schedule of the MS Mail directory server by checking the Administrator program on the MS Mail computer.
Use the Schedule property page to set the time when update messages are sent to the MS Mail directory synchronization server. For administrators familiar with MS Mail dirsync, this is known as "T1" time. The default is to send an update message at midnight. Directory synchronization messages are sent at the beginning of the selected time.
Note Directory synchronization server updates are handled automatically as they are received by the dirsync requestor.
When you have finished configuring the Microsoft Exchange Server dirsync requestor, you must configure the MS Mail (PC) directory synchronization server
to recognize the Microsoft Exchange Server as a requestor. You use the MS Mail (PC) Administrator program to register the Microsoft Exchange Server dirsync requestor with the MS Mail directory server.
When configuring an MS Mail (PC) directory synchronization server to recognize this Microsoft Exchange Server dirsync requestor, you must specify the Microsoft Mail Connector postoffice. These names can be viewed in the Microsoft Mail Connector Local Postoffice property page.
After the Microsoft Exchange Server dirsync requestor has been registered with the MS Mail directory server, you must start the directory synchronization services
on the Microsoft Exchange dirsync requestor computer.
For more information on configuring an MS Mail directory synchronization server, see your Microsoft Mail for PC Networks documentation.
