Relocating the Connector for cc:Mail

You should schedule relocating a connector at a time that coincides with a time the connector is used least.

Relocating a connector from one Microsoft Exchange Server computer to another requires waiting for messages in the MTS-OUT queue to be delivered. For information on monitoring the MTS-OUT queue, see Microsoft Exchange Server Maintenance and Troubleshooting.

Relocating a Connector to Another Site

When you relocate a connector to another site, you must designate an import container for the new site and remove the custom recipient objects (cc:Mail users) from the recipients container used for import in the former site. Otherwise, directory synchronization does not function properly.

  1. Install the Connector for cc:Mail on the Microsoft Exchange Server where the connector is being relocated.
  2. Start the Connector for cc:Mail Service for the new connector.
  3. In the Dirsync Schedule property page for the connector being removed, select Never.
  4. In the Import Container property page for the new connector, select a container for directory import.
  5. Stop the Microsoft Exchange Connector Service on the Microsoft Exchange Server computer where the connector is being removed.
  6. Remove the Connector for cc:Mail object from the Connections container for the site where the connector is being removed.
  7. Delete the previously used import container, or remove all custom recipients in the container.
  8. Schedule a directory synchronization cycle for the new connector, or initiate a cycle manually by choosing Run dir sync now in the Import Container property page.

Relocating a Connector Within a Site

When you relocate a connector within a site, you must designate a new import container for the site and remove the custom recipient objects (cc:Mail users) from the recipients container formerly used for import. Otherwise, directory synchronization does not function properly.

  1. Install the Connector for cc:Mail on the Microsoft Exchange Server computer where the connector is being relocated.
  2. Start the Connector for cc:Mail Service for the new connector.
  3. In the Dirsync Schedule property page for the connector being removed, select Never.
  4. In the Import Container property page for the new connector, select the same recipients container used by the previous connector for directory import.

Relocating the Import Container Within a Site

When you relocate a directory synchronization import container within a site, you must remove the custom recipient objects (cc:Mail users) from the recipients container formerly used for import. Otherwise, directory synchronization does not function properly.

  1. In the Import Container property page, choose Container.
  2. Select a new recipients container to import address information.
  3. Delete the previously used import container, or remove all custom recipients in the container.
  4. Schedule a directory synchronization cycle for the new connector, or initiate a cycle manually by choosing Run dir sync now in the Import Container property page.
