Schedule Properties

Use the Schedule property page to specify when to connect to the remote server.

Getting to the Dynamic RAS Connector Schedule property page

  1. In the Administrator window, choose Connections.
  2. Double-click the Dynamic RAS Connector you want to modify.
  3. Select the Schedule tab.

Setting a Schedule for the Dynamic RAS Connector

You can configure the Dynamic RAS Connector to establish a connection with the remote server at specified times. This is useful when you want to reduce costs for connections where telephone charges apply.

  1. Select the Schedule tab.
  2. Select Remote initiated, Never, Always, or Selected times.

Option Description
Remote initiated Sends messages queued at this MTA only when the remote MTA connects to this MTA. Only one of the two MTAs can be configured for remote initiation; otherwise, messages won't be delivered.
Never Disables the connector.
Always Sends requests to the target server for messages when there is a message in the outgoing queue.
Selected times Select a time or block of time in the schedule grid to assign specific connection times.
1 Hour Displays the schedule grid in one-hour increments.
15 Minute Displays the schedule grid in 15-minute increments.
