Setting Up Server Core Components and Properties

During installation, every server in your organization is provided with a set of core components. These components provide basic support for all functionality in Microsoft Exchange Server. Each component is installed with a default configuration that you can customize. These core components include:

• Message transfer agent (MTA)
• Directory
• Information store (public and private)
• System attendant

You can also configure server properties, such as locations that are used to access public folders and connectors, and locales to support international clients.
