Limiting Channel Access to Authenticated Users

Complete the following steps to limit access to a persistent channel to authenticated users.

To limit channel access to authenticated users

1. From the Chat Service Manager utility, select a chat server under Microsoft Exchange Chat Service in the left pane.
2. Create the persistent channel, or select Channels (Rooms) in the left pane, and then select a channel in the right pane.
3. From the Action menu, choose Properties.
4. In the Access property sheet, select the Authenticated clients only check box, and then choose OK.
5. Set up user authentication for prospective channel members.
