Limiting Channel Access by Member Password

Complete the following steps to limit access to a persistent channel by requiring a member password.

To limit channel access by member password

1. From the Chat Service Manager utility, select a chat server under Microsoft Exchange Chat Service in the left pane.
2. Create the persistent channel, or select Channels (Rooms) in the left pane, and then select a channel in the right pane.
3. From the Action menu, choose Properties.
4. In the Access property sheet, type a password in the Member box, and then choose OK. Users must provide this member password to join the channel.
