Use this property sheet to set member, owner, and host passwords and joining restrictions for a persistent channel. You can also limit access by associating a member account with the channel.
This property sheet contains the following options.

| Passwords | Allows you to create individual passwords for members, hosts, and owners that join the channel. Member designates a keyword with which users can join the channel as a member. The member keyword is limited to 31 characters. Host designates a keyword that members can use to join a channel with host permissions. The host keyword is limited to 31 characters. Owner designates a keyword that members can use to join a channel with owner permissions. The owner keyword is limited to 31 characters. |
| Member account | Designates a member account that Chat Service uses to restrict or deny access to the channel. A member account can be associated with a Windows NT group, or it can contain one or more users that you designate. When you choose a member account, the Authenticated clients only check box is automatically selected, which forces the authentication of each account member. You create a member account from Accounts under the chat server in the left pane. For more information, see Limiting Channel Access by Member Account. |
| Invitation only | Permits only invited users to join the channel. |
| Authenticated clients only | Permits only authenticated users to join the channel. When you choose a member account, Authenticated clients only is automatically selected, which forces the authentication of each account member. |
| Microsoft Internet Chat protocol clients only | Permits clients to join the channel only if they are using the Microsoft Internet Chat (MIC) protocol. Important Server extensions running on a chat server that allows connections from MIC clients may not operate as expected. |
