Complete the following steps to designate a location for channel transcripts.
To designate a location for the transcripts
Important If you change the location of a transcript directory, you must pause and then continue Chat Service to activate the change.
From the Chat Service Manager utility, select a chat server under Microsoft Exchange Chat Service in the left pane.
Select Extensions in the left pane.
Verify that the Channel Transcription extension is displayed in the right pane. If it is not, from the Action menu, choose New, and then choose Add extension. Select the Channel Transcription extension, and then choose OK.
Select the Channel Transcription extension in the right pane, and then from the Action menu, choose Properties.
Under Default location, type a new location for the transcript directories (for example, C:\Transcripts), and then choose OK.
Tip You can also designate the location from a chat client using the following command:
EXTMSG TSCRIPT SET DIRECTORY=directory_name
If you change the location of the transcript directories and you plan to use the transcript processor to view transcripts from a Web browser, you must also change the location of the transcript processor's virtual directory.
