IMAP4 Client Configuration

To connect to a Microsoft Exchange Server IMAP4 computer, you must specify the following information on the IMAP4 client:

• An IMAP4 account name
• An IMAP4 e-mail address
• An IMAP4 server name
• An SMTP server name

Because IMAP4 clients vary, the steps for configuring clients to connect to a Microsoft Exchange Server IMAP4 computer are different for each client. For information about how to configure the Microsoft Internet Mail IMAP4 client that is included with Outlook Express, see "Sample IMAP4 Client Configuration" later in this chapter.

Note   By default, some clients, such as Outlook Express, only display folders you have subscribed to. If you do not see all of the folders after connecting to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer, you should subscribe to the folders and then refresh the folder list.
