Foreign Directory Exchange Requestors

You can set up directory synchronization with any messaging system that can export and import address information using the MS Mail 3.x directory synchronization protocol.

Before configuring a directory exchange requestor on a foreign system, you should verify the following:

• Microsoft Exchange Server processes are started and working correctly.
• Both the gateway to the foreign system and the directory synchronization server are correctly installed and running on the Microsoft Exchange Server.
• The gateway to the Microsoft Exchange Server (if required) is correctly installed and running on the foreign system.
• Messages can be sent between recipients on the two systems by manually entering the recipient's address.
