MS Mail 3.x Directory Synchronization Requestor Setup

You can configure an MS Mail (PC) postoffice to be a directory synchronization requestor to a Microsoft Exchange Server dirsync server. You follow the same process for setting up a directory synchronization requestor as you would to an MS Mail directory synchronization server. The directory synchronization requestor is an integral part of MS Mail 3.x and can be configured using the MS Mail Administrator program.

Before configuring the directory exchange requestor, you should verify the following:

• Microsoft Exchange Server processes are started and working correctly.
• Both the Microsoft Mail Connector and the dirsync server are correctly installed on the Microsoft Exchange Server computer.
• Messages can be exchanged between the two systems.
• The MS Mail External or Multitasking MTA program is correctly installed and running if the MS Mail (PC) postoffice and Microsoft Exchange Server are not on the same LAN.
• The Dispatch program is installed and running on every LAN that has an MS Mail directory requestor postoffice.
