Test the Connections

After you configure the Microsoft Mail Connector and the Microsoft Exchange Connection, you should test the connection before allowing general message transfer or starting any messaging-based services. To test the connection, send a message from a Microsoft Exchange Server recipient to an MS Mail (AppleTalk) recipient. To ensure a complete connection from both sides of the connector, you can send a message from an MS Mail (AppleTalk) client to a Microsoft Exchange Server recipient. Because address lists have not been exchanged between systems, you must enter the network, postoffice, and mailbox names for any recipients you wish to send a test message to.

For information on synchronizing directory information, see Chapter 11, "Directory Synchronization for Microsoft Mail."
