Diagnostics Logging

You can control how logging information for the connector is written to the Windows NT Event Log. You can specify the types of events that are logged for the connector and the level of logging information for each event. Viewing the event log for the Connector for cc:Mail is useful when troubleshooting message transfer through the connector. For additional information about diagnostics logging, see Microsoft Exchange Server Maintenance and Troubleshooting.

Setting up Diagnostics Logging

You can enable logging for the Connector for cc:Mail Service to be written to the application event log. You can assign a level of logging for the categories related to the MSExchangeCCMC service. The level determines which events generated by the service are logged. Normally, you log only critical events. However, when a problem occurs, detailed events can disclose a path to the source of the problem. Outbound and inbound events pertain to messages destined to cc:Mail and messages destined to Microsoft Exchange Server respectively.

  1. Select the Diagnostics Logging tab.
  2. Under Category, select a service category.
  3. Under Logging level, select a level.

Option Description
None Only critical events and error events are logged. This is the default.
Minimum or Medium This setting is appropriate when the problem has been narrowed to a service or group of categories.
Maximum A complete trail of the operation of the service. This level is appropriate when the problem has been traced to a particular category.
