General Properties for the Site

Use the General property page for the site to define the display name that appears in the Administrator window and to choose a site where you want to enable a KM server.

Getting to the General property page

  1. In the Administrator window, choose Configuration in the site where the KM server is located.
  2. Double-click Site Encryption Configuration.
  3. In the Key Management Server Passwords box, type the advanced security administrator password, and then choose OK (if prompted).
  4. Select the General tab.

Defining the Display Name

Use the General property page to define the display name for the Site Encryption Configuration object.

  1. Select the General tab.
  2. Type the display name.

Option Description
Display name Type a maximum of 256 alphanumeric characters, which can include spaces and special characters. If no name is provided, the system prompts for a value.
Directory name Displays the directory name of the Site Encryption Configuration object. This name is created during Microsoft Exchange Server Setup and cannot be modified.
Primary KM Server Location Displays the site location name of the KM server.

Choosing a Site

You can enable a site to use a KM server in another site.

  1. Select the General tab.
  2. Choose Choose Site and select a KM server to use in another site.
