Server Services

You can specify the services on a server that will be checked by a server monitor. You can then configure a server monitor to perform a variety of actions, such as attempting to restart the service. Only services specified in the Services property page will be monitored.

Getting to the Server Services property page

1. In the Administrator window, choose Servers, and then select a server.
2. From the File menu, choose Properties.
3. Select the Services tab.

Adding a Service to the Server Monitor

To monitor a service, you must add it to the Monitored services box.

1. Select the Services tab.
2. In the Installed Services box, select a service to monitor, and then choose Add.

Option	Description
None	No services are to be monitored by other server monitors.
Default	Default services that are to be monitored by other server monitors. Default services include the directory, the information store, and the MTA.
All	All installed services are to be monitored by other server monitors.

Removing a Service

When you no longer want to monitor a service, you can remove it.

1. Select the Services tab.
2. In the Monitored services box, select a service, then choose Remove.
