The following MTA property pages are described elsewhere in Microsoft Exchange Server Getting Started or in other Microsoft Exchange Server documentation.
Permissions Permissions enable you to restrict access to the MTA, the directory, the information store, and the system attendant. You can grant permissions to control who can access an object's properties. For more information, see Chapter 4, "Setting Permissions."
Queues Microsoft Exchange Server creates different queues for all messages waiting to be delivered by the MTA. This applies to each server in a site, as well as to any installed connectors and gateways. Use the MTA Queues property page to select the queue you want, to view or change the priority of individual messages, or to view detailed information about a message. For more information, see Microsoft Exchange Server Maintenance and Troubleshooting.
Diagnostics Logging You can control how logging information for the MTA is written to the Windows NT Event Log. Using the MTA Diagnostics Logging property page, you can specify the types of events that are logged for the MTA and the level of logging information for each event. Viewing the event log for the MTA is useful for troubleshooting and determining the status of the MTA and message transfers. For more information, see Microsoft Exchange Server Maintenance and Troubleshooting.
