The first step in administering public folders within a site is deciding which servers will be responsible for storing public folders. You can configure a Microsoft Exchange Server computer to provide both mailboxes and public folders or act as a dedicated mailbox server. A dedicated mailbox server is a server that is configured to have only a private information store.
For more information, see Chapter 6, "Configuring Public Folders," and Chapter 9, "Replicating Public Folders."
