Postby jr » 07 Dec 2003 20:20

Couple photos from Moparts board. Some idiot without drivers license racing against Audi hit another car and here's the result.

Speaking of vultures...those window louvers are really hard to find, I saw one (1) on ebay going for over a grand! It doesn't seem like any of the big resto suppliers are making 'em anytime soon either :? ....anyone know of a place? Thanks

The louvers are rare, yes, but it said "unlicensed" driver. That car WAS too nice to be someone without a license's car, probably stolen or a kid joyriding his old man's car. Sucks, if it had happened to me, I would beaten him severely, if he lived. Dumbass. :x

I wonder if the driver flinched?

From an ebay ad (Starting bid $5000):

:tears:

This vehicle was completely restored when it was tragically damaged in a fire. After years of working on it, I no longer have the desire left. I have the title to this car and it could and should be restored again by someone with the time and desire.

Original 383HP engine / 4 spd./ 323 posi rear-end -------- Transmission was rebuilt, all new bearings. Rear-end was rebuilt, all new bearings, axle bearings. Steering is all new Moog suspension. New drums, shoes, and springs in rear. New rotors and calipers in front. All new exhaust--original resonators, tailpipes, and mufflers. All new floors, trunk, and rear quarters.

Engine bored 30 over, balanced, all clevite engine parts. New valves, springs, rockers, and shafts. Heads are 906, port matched on intake and exhaust. Original 4bbl manifold. Original HP exhaust manifold.

:tears:

Its like those carfax commercials, where the car catches fire, and the ad subtitle is, this car is HOTT!!!

And instead of smoke damage, NEW INTERIOR!!

Very sad situation. I can understand why he gave up and wanted to sell out. That car must be bent pretty bad with all the heat involved. How could you straighten warped unibody metal?

That car is dead. It got so hot that the leaf springs colapsed. I'm sorry to say that it would be hard to even use that thing as a parts car.

Today I got a pic from fellow mopar lover. Back in ´99, he crashed his T/A into a stone wall (because of a sticking gas throttle...). You can watch the result in the pic (A poor quality pic though). His back has still not recovered despite all of the years that has gone... Let´s be careful out there...
