Missing Console Ash Tray • The Dodge Challenger Message Board

I'm sure this has been asked B4, but does anyone know where I can get a re-pop of the center console ash tray? It appears I'm not alone, nearly every e-body I've seen has is missing it's ash tray as well.

If your car is a 1970 it didn't come with a center console ashtray. The space at the back of the console is for the front seat belt buckles. 71-on had an ashtray as in photograph.

Thanks for clearing that up. And all this time I thought I was missing something! Duh....I guess that's why all the other '70's are "missing" their's as well. Boy, am I a dope!:oops:

You are not alone, if that makes you any happier. I believed the same thing for a number of years. That ugly hole (excuse me..) simply gives the impression that something is missing.... (or is it just a bad excuse....? :s023:

Your right Christer, and even though the "hole" is supposed to be for the seat belt buckles, they don't really fit in there very well!

And while we are on the subject of interior design, how on earth is the front passenger supposed to hang on? When I take a right-hand corner at speed, I normally end up wearing my passenger! :mrgreen:
