Well...I just got this car a few weeks ago.It's my first Mopar.
It's not a #'s matching car,but that doesn't bother me at all.
I don't want a show car...but rather a car that I can just enjoy driving.
It's a 1970 SE that was originally a 383 car I believe,but now has a 440 in it with a single 4 BBL carb.
The car isn't currently running,and the wiring harness is pretty butchered up.
It has a few minor rust spots,but nothing serious.
I know this is going to be a long time project,but the price was right.
I picked this car not only for the "Coolness Factor" of a Challenger,but because I couldn't bear to be another one of those "me too guys" with yet another Camaro or Mustang.

Anyway...enough babbling.
Here it is...in all it's "needing TLC" glory...

Yep...sticking wiht red...might change to a little deeper metallic red though.
Since it's already a non #'s matching car...I figure I might as well change it up a little and make it like I want it.
I'm keeping the vinyl top(well...having it redone after a small amount of rust repair underneath it) and re installing the SE badges on the top as well.
I want to add the T/A front and rear spoilers,as well as the T/A hood(will be left black).
As of right now...I'm planning on picking up a set of factory(or repro) 15" rally wheels and running staggered tire sizes like on the T/A,just to give it a little better stance.
The black interior is in really good shape,except for the carpet being quite worn and faded.I'm sure I'll replace it.
Also...I used to be really involved in the competitive mobile audio scene...so i'm sure it will end up with quite an explosive sound system in it.

You may have come across these UK based promo cars then.

Fitted with a 155dB sound system, they won the 'Loudest in-car sound system' trophy a while back.

They have a website, but there's not many shots of the cars on it!
(Mostly half-naked chicks). One car is a T/A, the other a 440 R/T.

The owner, Richard Warren, entered one of the cars (440 R/T) in the Gumball Rally in 2005. It wore the number 11:

Nice car you got there. I like it just the way it is myself, but I do understand your wish to modify it so it becomes more personal. Your car, your choise. Question: Do you plan to keep the chrome trim at the rear of the hood when you switch to a black T/A-hood? I guess not, because that would look a bit funny, or? You will have to remove all of the chrome trim beneath the side screens and the windshield, or?

I'm still not 100% sure which way I'm going to go on this car.
I know I like the T/A hood the best out of all the different hoods,and if I do end up rinning the T/A hood,I will remove the necessary chrome to make it look right.
Basically,what I'm wanting is...the look of a T/A...minus the side exit exhaust,minus the T/A side stripe,and minus the large rear window(keeping my small back glass).

In other words...the look of a SE R/T...but with the T/A hood( a clone of a pretty rare car?lol)

Curious...has anyone here used any products from MAS Racing Products out of St. Paul Minnesota?
They sell a T/A Spoiler Kit that includes the 2 front tips,and the rear spoiler for $119.
Is it junk? I'm not looking for resto correct pieces..just don't want to spend my money on garbage.
They also sell a Lift Off fiberglass hood with the 6 pack scoop for $249.
I'm a little leery about that one.
Anyone know of another maker of aftermarket T/A hoods?

To choose between two very good looking hoods is not the easiest thing to do. I have had similar thoughts myself.
