I'm actually not that keen on the vents & side stripes, but will do the blackout panel, and maybe colour-coded bumpers as a possibly cheaper alternative to rechroming....

Yeah I see what you mean on those side vents and stripes, I've got two sets and I still haven't installed one yet cos I'm still undecided......
Thing is with the colour coding you risk makin the car look too bland, so in some ways extra details actually enhance it, would like to see a T/A spoiler on that pic
Those wheels are original 70's Magnum 500's 15X7 with 235/60 rubber, car sits quite low and they tuck in just fine.
Got some aluminium Mag 500 in 17X8 comin over this winter so these will be comin off
I'm really keen to see where you go with this car ....... look on the Hotchkis Suspension website at the E-Max Challenger for some inspiration, also the XV Motorsports Challenger, both look awesome

Well, the main thing at the moment is to get it fully roadworthy and clean enough to drive around in... don't expect any fancy Chip Foose mods for a while!

How much time have you got?

springing to mind at the moment are a rear license plate light, rear parcel shelf, headliner... might be quicker for you to list what you have!

A diamond in the rough, if I may say so. The look gives me a bit of Vanishing point-feeling. It is kind of a relief to see a car that isn´t that perfect as many of our cars has become over the years. I like it.

If also the front license plate would have been yellow, then you would have got colour-matched license plates. How does it come that they have different colours? I am just wondering.

UK cars first registered after Jan 1973 (I think) have to have a white plate on the front and yellow on the rear.

Older cars you could have black plates with white or silver letters.

Yep.. the car actually came with larger black & silver pressed metal ones, which aren't strictly legal (for the reason Dave mentions), and looked a bit ungainly!

Andy that look like a great basis to start from what are your plans for it?. If it was me just get it running good and have some fun with it, to many cars get pulled to pieces and then get left in the garage

Yep, that's pretty much it at the moment! Might get a paint job next year, but we'll see.....

Actually took the car out on the road today (albeit only to the nearest petrol station), and got quite a few thumbs ups from the locals! Unfortunately the MOT expires tonight, so it's back off the road until the brakes get properly sorted (i.e. I don't have to carry a bottle of brake fluid round with me just in case...)

Yep, looks like some aftermarket jobbie, fitted by a previous owner. The wiring is fairly interesting...

What's with the reed hash marks on the speedometer? Don't recall seeing those.

They're just bits of tape stuck on by a previous owner, as a cheap way to convert a km/h speedo into mph! Like, there's one at 80km/h which equates to 50mph.



p.s. for some reason, the previously jammed shut sunroof suddenly decided it would let me open it yesterday!

They look nice on the car, I really like that optical effect of the chrome ring against the holes.....
Always liked em with big chunky white lettered tyres too
