1973 Challenger front valance

Postby patrick » 30 Nov 2011 5:07

Hey Guy's!
What is the difference in the 70-71 front valance and the 72-74's? I thought they were the same but, getting some mixed messages. So, I'm asking the Pro's. You! I've been looking into AMD and A*Deals on Ebay. Got some feedback from A*DEALS but, the person I talked to is a GTO guy and, dumber than a bag of hammers when it comes to Mopar. Any tips? :s006:

The difference is in the front valance opening. The aluminum trim is one piece(72-74) instead of two pieces(70-71) They attach differently. If you aren't going to use that trim piece it doesn't matter what one you use.

Thanks burdar! I'm using the original 73' piece. This means I'm good to go?
Thanks, Pat

The 73 trim won't attach to the 70-71 valance. The mounting holes are different. IF you have a 70-71 valance, you may still be able to get it to work. The accual shape of the valances are the same...the mounting holes are just different. Don't hold me to that but that's the way I understand it.
