What Plymouth was that?

Postby Goldenblack440 » 17 Jan 2011 16:16

This might be one of those posts that ends up with 0 replies because who remembers details like this? Anyway, we are getting re-runs of The Dukes of Hazzard down here, and i just want to know if anyone there in the States can remember what model car is the white cop car driven by Annis? Its obviously a Plymouth, the grille design looks like a 71-74 RoadRunner style and same goes for the tail lights. Its a nice looking white 4 door sedan. In the episode i saw, he rolled it, but i'm sure, just like in the cartoons, in the next episode it will be good as new again.

Also on the same topic - was it Bewitched that had a gold 70 Challenger driven by Dick York? I only remember it as a kid, but wasn't sure if it was this show or I Dream of Jeannie or something else

I never did watch that show but remember the ads. Wasnt that dude's name ANUS? I think the car was a Plymouth Fury. Most Cop Cars of that era were either Dodge Royal Monaco's or Plymouth Gran Fury's the Dodge was a C-Body and the Plymouth a B-Body. I might be wrong howver, this is from memory

The cars on set are from the Mustang club as well as the MMA. The Challenger was owned by an MMA member who was also a member on here I think?
But my memory being what it is these days I can't remember who it was or who it went to.

I am sure it belonged to someone I know well......

My Dad drove a Polara Cop Car in the mid 70's it was a 1970 Model and had a "certified' speedometer label in the dash. I drove that car into the ground! Burned up the tranny, the 727 is one tough bugger!
