Where to find a fiberglass hood?

Postby plum-crazy » 02 Jun 2010 10:20

I'm planning to install a pin style fiberglass hood to improve the total weight of the car.
I like the R/T style and I think the several companies are picking from the same place their hoods.
Any recommendation about it?

On the other side I remember somebody designed a gauge pod to install instead of dash central speaker grille. The man shown his products on ebay but I never found him again.

Thanks.

I think Dale at DRE in the UK has a mould for the hood. If so he can make you one.

Located near Oxford, within a couple of hours travel from London,
01993 772317 or
07979 215112 or email d.r.edmonds@btinternet.com

His stuff is very good quality.

Yes Dave it's true, but five years ago.
Now the scoop is installed but i'm looking to loose weight. The gauges are into the scoop and I need to find a new place If I finally get the new one.

Thanks again.

Dale could take a mould off your existing (very good looking) cowl induction hood and make a light weight exact copy.

Or he can make one from scratch to any design you need.

Most of the guys in the UK use him for their fibreglass and carbon panels.

That is a thought. He could make one in cardon fibre if you wanted.

I posted a link to some fibreglass panel manufacturers in the States but can't remember the name, sure I only Googled it in the first place tho.
I managed to find a T/A hood and an R/T hood in lightweight mouldings in England thru the MMA web site.
Both used and in need of a little TLC but £130 for both is nothin to be sniffed at is it
