Does anyone know if the hood latch and bracket assemble are the same for a 70 and 71 mod? My 70 RT is going to be a driver not a show car so if a 71 is different will the bracket and latch still fit and function ok?

Nope, they're different.
And, as far as I remember, very different.

I spent 5 years looking for a new latch after a mechanic broke my latch handle (I used a small steel cable to open the hood during that time).
I found mine at Columbus, halfway around the world.
