SE rear opra glass

What do you put under the vinyl top at the rear window plug? It seems to be uneven and needs to fill the mounting holes. What did the factory use?

from what i remember they did use some sort of filler like bondo,

and since bondo/fiberglass/metal dont bond well together they used a vynal top to cover the seam,

over time this seam had to be re done,

they probably have better products now to fill the seam ,just ask a body shop or auto paint supplier, hope this helps :s017:

I was trying to not mention the "B" word. What else would they use... Lead! They did it with our rooftoppers. :s024:

Yeah they couldn't use lead because of the window plug being plastic. But I would be suprised if that used much of anything because when you see original tops they do look a bit rough around the window.

What ever you do use make sure it is something that can be dug out in future. You don't want a future owner cursing your name if it ever needs to come out again.
