New to this Board

Postby Cajun Mojo » 18 Aug 2009 17:05

Ran across this Board after researching facts about my new car.

The previous owner "Patrick Chesnutt" who built the car has gone beyond the call of duty when I have any questions. He kept the car 100% Era Correct.

But I hope this board will help me further my knowledge on this car.

I had been looking for this car for over 11 months. I knew what I wanted in a car and was not in a hurry to buy one. Was looking far and wide from Ebay to Craigs List to Local Paper. Well I found this locally ‘Houston” and it was the first car I ever Looked at.

Hope I can offer some insight to anybody who has any questions, but mostly I hope to gain knowledge from some here.

1971 Challenger RT “Clone” with a 440 Six Pack and 4 Speed “Pistol Grip” .

Since I have bought the car I have had to need for my psychiatrists

Look foward to picking a few brains here.

I liked the attention to detail the prvevious owner had , keeping the car era correct.

Like the:

"Cooling Ducts"

On the 1971 R/T modesl a non-fuctional brake cooling duct was mounted in front of the rear tires on the quater panel.

Yeh . . . I am liking the car. Have met some really nice and cool paople at the car shows.

They have a local group called The Nifty Fifties that sponsors local car shows. Great Group. They put on a show in Spring , TX "close to my house" every Saturday Nite. If I had to guess I would say over 200 cars show up every Saturday.

It is really fun going there and meeting others who share the same interest.

One thing I have notice at these shows. Camaros-Mustangs "Ford-Chevy" are a dime a dozen. Mopars are scarce , making them very unique.
