1971 Convertible Dodge challenger maintenance info ?

Hi guys !
First post here
Me and a Friend are trying to get back to life his 1971 Challenger Convertible,so i am looking for all the routine maintenance specs
Spark plugs,correct gap ...Oil filter,what's the correct tires (on today's numbers) and timing procedure and °
and all that info,where's the best source ?
It's a 1971 Convertible,originally Yellow with a black top,4 speed Manual,340 Engine originally with 4bbl,but sometime in the 80's they switched it to 2bbl.-

First of all it is VITAL that you get a factory workshop manual. For 1971 it was in two parts.

It will save you a million questions and keep you out of trouble. :wink:

The other questions would be best if you asked one at a time with each question in the correct area.

Don't use the factory timing spec whatever you do. Fuel is not the same as it was back then. You need as much advance as you can get at idle without going too high total.
Most people set total timing (without vacuum) to 34 degrees @ 3000rpm.
Hopefully that will give you 12 degrees or more initial. Distributor mods are needed to get an ideal 18 degrees initial with 34 total.
I have threads on here about setting timing if you look for them.

Plug gaps are 35thou which is normally how they come. If you want a good plug use NGK plugs.
