I know, I know....I'm hitting you guys with allot of questions lately. That's only after I search the message board, surf the web and oh,......review my body and chassis manual (which in this case is useless). Door glass removal.......I reviewed the body and chasis manual and it doesn't go into much detail at all. So I attempted anyway and it looks like a comedy of errors in there! I need to get out of the doors so I can remove for media blasting. Does anyone have any useful tips I can use.

My FSM is fairly clear about it in a way. But confusing at the same time because identifying each part the mention is tricky.

But basically (from memory) you take off anything in the way and unbolt the two vertical guides - but leave them in place.

Also unbolt the horizontal bar that holds the glass to the mechanism.

Then the glass fifts up and out. With a struggle.

I just removed mine two days ago. And right or wrong , this is what I had to do.

Roll the window all the way up. There are two holes in the glass near the top of the door, these can be accessed by two holes in the door itself. Through these hole there is a nut at the rear and a allen head bolt towrds the front , this is how you get the vertical tracks undone, plus the bottom of the door has two more bolsts.

You have to take out the horizontal track too, and the two top L brackets.

Its a pain in the neck but I got it out.

I said I used the FSM (Factory Service Manual) and not trial and error. But I was saying it's discription is a little confusing.

I was working from the 1970 Challenger/Dart manual.

When I took the driver side window out last year I looked at the manual. ( it went easier ) This time after having moved into a new house and garage and god knows where the manual is, I did it by trial and error. The real fear I felt this time was the window breaking as I had the door out and on its side on the bench. But i supported the glass the whole time.

Just unbolt everything you can, invert the whole door, and give it a good shake.

That will get it out.

I was able to remove the passenger door glass as a result of the suggestions/feedback provided by each of you. What an orchestration of maneuvers and what a job. Heck, it was easier to pulling the engine and transmission! I want to thank you guys for taking the time to help me. I appreciate it.....Trep
