That car also reminds me of the late Swede Savage's Plymouth Cuda Trans Am spec racer with Keith Black 305 engine and fully caged. It too was all black and for sale a couple years ago I think for 300k.

actually i was just wondering when someone was going to reply,cause most mopar nuts (like you ) already know that ,i remember him when i was young, and my amx buddies remind me of him and donahue, both greats in there time,and titus too!

Dave, you must realize here in the midwest Nascar and drag racing rule. The real drivers that turn left and Right were never that popular. Then when the Indy Racing League went on its own to promote more American road race drivers,(which never materialized and now they are re-uniting with CART as it should have been all along), but Nascar took off during that period. In the Indy Cars "glory Days" during the Mario, Unser, Carter, Bettenhausen, Savage, Posey ect days the same people knew these as 'household names' today everyone has a number 8 or 3 on their cars, person, homes, ect. Drew those men in those pics have balls bigger than my ol ladys belly. As far as Red avitar, send her to me at once!

Boy Drew you have an impressive knowledge of that type of Racing, of which I greatly admire. Didnt Peter Revson get killed at Watkins Glen? Or was it in Europe during Formula 1? I have always thought Sports Car Racing and Formula 1 were the ultimate test of Guts&Glory for both driver and Team! Thats why my engine is going to be a pretty serious endurance engine with peak power taking a 'back seat' to durability. I dont know the answer to your question however. I do know that Mario Andretti has won at Formula 1, Indy 500, Daytona 500 Stock Car Race, USAC Sprint Car Champion among others. The only driver I think to have 'conquered' all forms of Professional Racing.

yes revson dies as well in a car crash at watkins, yes another trivia that people dot know is that amc motor co. never raced the amx,in trans am, but the javlins won alot of races with alot of different drivers, amc was good and very under rated , they were one of the first nascar races, i think in 73 or 74 of the season with a matador and were the first to have disc brakes , and power steering on a race car !

Peter Revson and Francois Cervet who was Sir Jackie Stewarts teammate in the early 70's is interviewed about why he races F-1 and how he prepares for the races. It's 1 of my most prized videos! It's Sad video as well most of the men are Dead. Open wheel and Stock Car racing was quite hazardous in the glory days wasnt it.

Yes I do! The scene where Yvette Mimieux says," is this what you want" referring to the blood of one of the drivers killed! lol what a great movie, it's one of my favs of all time. Along with Vanishing point and Bullitt and of course the Rednecks Dirty Mary Crazy Larry BTW, James Garner was a 'professional' driver competing in the Baja 500/1000 in the 1960's driving a Ford Bronco along with Mickey Thompson?

Eddie, i believe Parnelli Jones has won as many, if not more, styles of racing than Mario, though he never won a F1 race (he did own a F1 team for awhile.)

I remember going to the IMSA races in vthe mid 70s. There was a track outside of st Louis in a town called Wentzville that was a motorsports park before there was such a word. They had drag racing and road racing. A buddy and I used to take our dates out for a Saturday of racing. This was after the Mopars quit running, but watching the big block Vettes, Trans Ams, and Camaros dicing it out with the BMWs, Zs etc was something to see.
