Anyone have the US version of the 1971 Challenger Brochure?

Postby KISSAlien » 21 May 2008 15:26

I need to know what it lists for the names of the High Impact colors.

PS> I know what the colors are but I need to know how they are listed in the US version of the brochure.

Thanks

I don't see the brochure on there. I need to know exactly what the US version of the brochure says. I have the Canadian version and it mentions the High Impact colors by name.

Plum Crazy
Citron Yella
Green Go
Tor-Red (note it does not call it Hemi Orange!)
Butter Scotch (note 2 words)

Not the actual brochure i admit but it does show what each called the colours.

Enter the site.

Click on "1971" on the left hand frame and you get the following page;

http://challenger.mpoli.fi/the.dodge.ch ... hall71.htm

Scroll down to where it lists the paint options.

There is also a link to this page;
http://challenger.mpoli.fi/the.dodge.ch ... colour.htm

Which is the color chart. It lists the colours and all the different names used by Chrysler Dodge and Plymouth. Look for the C,D and P letters that tell you what each called that color.

Oh I get it.

You have noticed a typo in the Canadian brochure and you want to see if the same typo is in the US version?

Exactly. Or maybe in Canada they called it Tor-Red. Who knows?

I'm working on a page showing samples of every Challenger color for every year. (Well 73-74 are combined when the color was the same for both years since they are identical except for possibly engine call-out.)

I'm going to use the names as they appear in the brochure even though that may not match what is published elsewhere.

In 1971 they only list the High Impact colors so for that I'll use the Color & Trim Selector for the regular color names. That's how I noticed the use of Tor-Red, so I wanted to check what a US version said since my 1971 brochure is Canadian.

I'll have to check the edition date of the Canadian Brochure to compare. Mine definitely has Butter Scotch and Tor-Red.

Okay, I checked and I have version DCH-71-E Chrysler Canada Ltd.

Thanks!
