Unrestored Challenger

Take a good look at the details on this car. You don't see many this original to make notes and save the images.

You can lean a lot about how these cars are supposed to look from examples like this.

Note the black-out areas on the car for example. Including the sills and how the black overspray went over the body colour overspray.

Also note the lack of exhaust cut-outs in the rear valance.

Thanks Dave. Very impressive. Dig the interior and the rear exhaust. No cutouts for the rear valance with duals? Remarkable condition!

Wow! That is a museum piece. I think that was not expensive at all for a car in that amazing condition! Wow!

Yes it has emmissions measures on it. You couldn't even order a shaker in California.

Hey, watch it now. You're talking about my fellow Californicators. Where they just passed gay marriage again. Against the vote of the people. Very progressive courts we have. In San Francisco at least.

A historic car that 440 if all is legitimate.

As for the cut outs this picture from 1977 or so shows my CA. Challenger with the voids. The color looks off though so possibly it was changed. It did have turn-downs when I got it (before the rear axle) so she had been molested. Also have a non cut out valence in the attic but can't remember the chain of events back then. I will investigate. Any numbers to look for.

N41 dual exhaust and N97 noise reduction package (turn down pipes will be part of this package).

This is the tag on that un-restored car. Not a good photo but you can make a few things out.

The masses are already going after the judgement. i doubt it will stand the test of time.

Thought to go up in the attic to get my old valence but it's 95 outside and probably 150 up there. Tomorrow morning. Dave, the numbers or any markings I was refering too were stampings on the sheetmetal maybe a date code to look for. I know mine came with the Ca. 70 emmisions-vapor seperator as it is still in place. (being a good Californian). But, the turn downs were behind a pair or 2-1/2" Covair turbo mufflers so that part was not factory.

That is a very rare find, and one owner as well. That is one that you would not restore. A genuine survivor.
