gday does anybody know the correct position of the wing spoiler on the decklid ive been looking but cant find any info thanks

Make sure you have the correct decklid. The early decklids did not have the mounting holes in the frame to locate the wing. As for putting the holes in the skin, I'm not sure of the correct locations. Hope this is of any help.

there is a kit with special brackets that go underneath , i think year one has the brackets and they might have a diagram too! ill look around,drew

thanks guys i found the diagramm on yearones site its 8 1/2 inches from the bottom edge of the rear of the decklid

i cant find it but i have the brackets stowed away some where, and the diagram to drill the holes, ill keep looking :thumbsup:

ian you must have some sort of bracket under the stanchions or you woii crease the deck lid, go to the paddock and you will see what i mean, do you have these brackets?

gday drew are you referring to the under deck lid brackets , i am intending on fabricating my own for a couple of reasons - cost , you dont see them when the deck lid is shut & they look like a pretty simple piece to make heres the page from the year one catalogue with the measurements on

I'm toying with the idea of installing the duck-tail T/A spoiler on my deck lid. Does someone here know if there are brackets needed for this installation?

Just nuts with captive washers. And you should get those with the spoiler.

You will need to cut access holes in the inner skin of the trunk lid. The T/A had square holes. I used a round hole cutter.

A dremel should be able to make those holes (or a shouldered drill bit).

I ordered a ducktail kit from Year-One last week but still haven't heard from them yet. I'm starting to believe their online ordering system is still as crappy as it was last time I tried to use it (years ago).

I ordered a couple of bits from them on the 22nd Feb. (a friday).

Jose De Jesus is the guy that usually deals with overseas orders.

You did select the overseas orders thing on the online form yes? Otherwise you will never get your order.

He got back to me with a shipping quote on the Monday. I think it shipped the day after.

Maybe you should chase it up.

I used this type of hole cutter. But I guess a Dremel will do.

For that kind of Greenlee hole cutter, you need access to the back of the panel. How did you get half of the cutter inside the panel?

It was not as hard as you might think. I had to push it along from the hole where the catch is.

thanks drew there will be lots of pics coming as i go with this project its just taking longer than expected as i can only work on it a few hours a month heavy work schedule plus all the round the house jobs that get left till the last minute im sure many other board members struggle with these daily tasks but it is getting there bit by bit

I just bought my house (well, I just bought it in February 2007, but I still haven't moved in or done anything to it). High time I really started on the plumbing and electricity work....

BTW, Jose deJesus contacted me 2 days ago. I guess it just takes some time since he's probably the only one taking international orders. Just 3 items out of stock out of 22, I'm improving! It shouldn't be long (I hope).
