Trailer Hitch and trailers for E Body cars ?

Postby johannes » 27 Jan 2008 22:16

Can you buy a Trailer Hitch for e-body cars anywhere ?
Has anyone seen any cool looking trailers to "match" these cars?

I know,..the car will look better on its own,...but I sure could do with more luggage space,...and a luggage rack has its limitations...

Suggestions are welcome....

There is a guy on Cuda-challenger.com with one. Purple1 is the screen name IIRC.

Hey, I just found this site. And I find a picture of my car and trailer first thing. WOW!!

I do not know of anywhere to buy a hitch for an e-body. I made mine at my friends welding shop.

Rear Bumper Setup

Postby patrick » 06 Aug 2008 4:22

Welcome to the site, Purple1! Nice car! Is that a 73' bumper on that 71'? If so, I'm interested on how you mounted it. I have a 73' with new 73' bumper's. I also have a nice pair of 70' bumper bracket's. I see you filled the bumperette hole's, with a cap. And installed 70'-72' bumperette's. I have question's. Do you have answer's? I just want to lose the 73', filler, and mount it closer to the body. I have the front figured out but, the rear is a real bugger. :? Any help appreciated! :)
I see you have the problem with Challenger trunkspace figured out. Nice trailer!

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

Patrick, To answer your question about the bumper. Yes that is a 73 type bumper on my 71. It was on the car when I got it. Some one cut the 71 bumper brackets and welded a plate to them. Thats how this was put on the car. I have since corrected this with a 71 rechromed bumper and the right brackets.

I found these pictures on another board. Now even though its not a Challenger, it is a 71 e-body mopar made into a trailer.
