i have been saying this all year,i really think it is going to happen. the challenger should catch up to the cuda. i think they are so much better looking and have that class with the muscular look like no other mopar. with the new challenger coming out everyone is going to start to recognize the originals. i know that all the local dealers are looking for a good looking older challenger to put beside the new one. i might do it for my local dealership but i am not shure if i like everyone walking around my car causing scratches/smudges etc... i was at a big toronto classic car auction a few weeks back and saw a 1971 cuda 440 6 pack car get $199,900. i dont get it,i went home and checked the production numbers on those cars and it was only a few less than my 70 challenger r/t se 440 6 pack car but i paid way less than half that amount than the cuda. sorry but apple for apple the challengers are a bargain.maybe the challengers will get the do respect they deserve. just my 2 cents worth.airfuelEddie wrote:Just wait till the challenger 'craze' hits and the prices go up to match the Cudas. These 'speculators' are gonna be sorry.
i agree with jack and eddie too. my cars are very high quality cars but you better believe i drive them every chance i get.people sometimes come up to me at a cruise and say "you drive that car" i tell them "of course i do".the best part about driving my cars is not really the cruise ins but it is when i am on the move.the feel and sounds of old school - there is nothing like it! also i love the thumbs up i get when i am on the road.especially the kids, they just love old muscle cars, they think it is a space ship as they have never seen the car before.life is short, enjoy the car and drive them.airfuelEddie wrote:Jack T is right about driving these cars, if I cant drive it, it wouldnt be fun to me. There is a man in the Ford fold, named Bob? Perkins. He owns the finest collection of GT-500's Shelby Mustangs. He doesnt drive them. He claims,"a driven car is a never a true repesentation of a delivered product", and I appreciate that level of comittment it takes to preserve the breed, but without the sound, feel, action ect,, it wouldnt be enjoyable. Bill Weiman the Hemi Cuda Convertible collector, reportedly drives his cars.
