A friend of mine has been offered to buy a 426 Hemi Gasser boat from late 1960's. How much can a boat like this be worth? Any opinions? The seller is asking $15000 for it

Barn fresh 426 Hemi! I would think a late 60's Hemi would be worth at least that much to someone wanting to restore their Hemi B-Body. But then again 'if' you have a buyer!

By coincidence, I found this very nice-looking boat in a magazine. The engine is nothing less than a Viper engine. It is said to have a max speed of 65 knots. Cool and quick, eh?

Old race boats are VERY collectible, just like old race cars. Do some online searches & see what you come up with. It would be a shame to seperate the engine from a great vintage find like that.

Old boats of all types are collectibles, from what I understand. I remember watching some boat shows over the years and just about any wooden boat from the 1950s and earlier (wooden boats) can bring some hefty $$.

The fact that I own a Challenger doesn´t mean that I am a billionare and can afford presents like a Hemi gasser boat .

It would be something to have behind the T/A whilst visiting car shows?
The disadvantage is that it might get more attention than your car.
A Hemi is always a Hemi....

Haha ordinary people nowadays know that a Hemi is something special, even though they have no clue what it is.

When the hemi was reintroduced into the dodge lineup a few years back, the general public seemed to think that every old car they saw might have a hemi in it, like the new trucks. I can't tell you how many times I had some yokel come up to me in my '65 Mustang and ask me if it had a Hemi in it.

Not me either... Frankly, I just used a little bit of cut ´n paste technique on a mail I got.

A 'Gasser' is a modified 2-Door Coupe designed with a 'straight-axle' front suspension which creates a unique vehicle stance. This imtimidating stance served a functional purpose during drag racings early years......to provide rear weight transfer as a drag race starting line advantage. Such classic 'doorslammers' were known to be the first type of drag race car to gain company sponsorship. The Gassers became fan favorites as big name racers often ran grudge matches for crowd entertainment. Gassers and Fuel Altered cars were the top drag racing classes prior to Top Fuel Dragsters, Funny Cars, and Pro Stock. The "Gasser War' years are defined as 1955-1968 when they ruled drag strips across the country

I guess they mean that this boat has some similarities with these cars!?
