1971 Dodge Challenger R/T wrecked need parts

My friend Farouk had a chance meeting with an BMW the other day. The Beemer won, unfortunately, it smashed into the side of the Dodge with expected results. He needs a fender possibly both, headlight bezels, fill panel, front valance, front bumper. I sent Dave the pics maybe he can post them, I just want to see the car fixed as it's an original 383 Magnum R/T and was beautiful, maybe it can be again! farouk@lebolive.com

It sure takes a lot of brute force to make the passanger door that dented. :tears: I hope he will be able to fix it. How about the front suspension? Is it really 100% OK after that abuse?

Farouk and Jack are now communicating so hopefully some parts will end up on that car. Farouk sent me a list of needed parts for repair and I have to say, it's a long one! Botari 123, you are right man. Suspension damage, interior damage.Hre is a list of items needed according to farouk, some items are needed to complete the resto and were not done in the accident but needed regardless so I posted them as well: Headlight Bezels, both side tinted windows
bumper guards
dash mounted convertible switch
Dimmer and Wiper switches
bumper filler plate
a/c dash vents
bellhousing for B/RB
complete steering column for 1971 with steering wheel

Looks a little like mine, although my wheels were much more slanted (but the body damage was limited to the front fenders , bumper and grille.
My K-member was shot (lower arm mounting hole blew up, it's meant too, and the idler arm bracket was ripped off too), so I guess you might be needing a K-member (available better than new from Firm Feel), lower control arms and possibly upper ones too if they are bent (looks like a storng shock to the right front wheel, could have bent the K).

The door is not a problem, but I'd be more concerned about the pillar/cowl section since the door and fender are pretty dented. I hope nothing was hit underneath the fender here.

And, of course, the grille will be very hard to find.
But I hope we'll see good repros in the next couple of years.

Fabian, thanks for the advice and I will tell Farouk to inspect that area very carefully. His 'bodyman' in Lebanon is good according to Farouk but some parts are going to take a lot of luck and searching to find. Can the fender or door possibly be 'saved'? Fabian, you're car was recently in an accident as well? if so very sorry to hear that.

Update on The Lebanese Challenger. Farouk has informed me the structural body work is completed and turned out very good. The exterior parts are being primed and painted. The car will return to it's glory this spring/summer 08. When I recieve pics I will post them. Farouk wanted me to Thank You ALL for the help but has been very busy in Europe/Africa/Lebanon attending his business so I decided to post this for him! Eddie

I think you are right. Now I think I can see the contour of the grille (to the right of the headlight bezel).

Actually it is from 1973, back of the car was damaged too so we are afraid new shell is neccessary, some body guys investigated the car and they say that practically there is no sense in repairing that. In real it looks even worse.
Fortunatelly nobody was seriously hurt during accident.

It is not going to be easy to find a shell in eastern europe. You are better off taking the insurance money (it was insured right?) to buy a complete replacement but buy the wreck back from the insurance company for spares.

Wojpi, that was a really nice Challenger your friend had there. I remember it from the restoration link's. Sorry to see that it is smashed. I would take Dave's advice and total it, then buy it back from the insurance company. :wink2: Pat

No insurance. In Poland it is almost impossible to insure a car like that, none of insurance companys want to do this. Thanks for the link but my friend i looking rather for sth not expensive just to change the body even if it needs some repair.
