Hey Dave. Can you find that red heavily modified aluminum Hemi powered Challenger you posted on here? Some one e-mailed him and he sent back a whole history of himself and that awesome Challenger! I want to copy it and contact him. It was an incredible machine!! It was aboot 3 weeks ago Dave! Thanks! :s009:

Thanks Dave. Yeah you're correct I forget myself, but remember you posted a comment about it. I hope he returns, that car and it's technical "history" is very impressive. He raced and crewed for some big names in American RoadRacing in the sixties and seventies. I also believe he was an engineer and did some pretty innovative things never before attempted with an E-Body, thats why I wanted to save it, along with the fact that he ran an injected all aluminum 426 Hemi in an Vintage American Road Racing GT "type" machine. His car made the XV Supercars, obsolete by comparison! :thumbsup:

Did you find it again? can you post a link? I don't remember any of this, and I'm interested as it will soon be "chassis season".

Of course, since my memory was made with leftovers from Dave's, I may have seen it and already forgotten.

Thank you. I had seen that post (and even ), but the comparison to XV made me think you were talking about a somewhat modified street car!

That is a full race tube chassis!

I just read the whole story, checked all the pics, and downloaded the vids for tonight. Looked a little at one of them, sounds like a friend's NASCAR Hemi Charger (http://www.olympia-charger.com/).

Great story, that guy never quits!

He should be invited to Goodwood...

Sorry Fabian, I should have included "race spec chassis and engine/injection" not street legal. :oops:

It's pretty interesting however, and yes GoodWood Festival, is the proper place for a vintage spec racer like that! :mrgreen:

The XV cars are, of course, street legal and inpressive in their own right. Passing that Ferrari at 150+ had to have been a great time. Wonder what the Ferrari driver was thinking? :mrgreen:

Wow,whew, Fabian is right. Glenn Bunch doesnt know the word when to quit. He has met and worked with a veritable who's who in International Road Racing. His 'connection' to Chrysler's race engineers like Larry Rathgeb and Dave Koffel, John Baughman, among others, is fascinating and he is truly an innovator. Wouldnt it be great to see that IMSA car in competition especially against Corvettes, Ford Cobra's and European Sports Cars as well.? :thumbsup:

Thanks ZZubZero! When I 'found' this pile it didnt matter that it was 'rare' I just wanted a fast MoPar, I was actually looking for a Dart/Swinger/Valiant, to make into a RoadRace/GT type machine. Now that I have it completed, all I want to do is drive it. Fast. I am thinking of selling off some toys to buy another E-body than build it up my way. I know where a 73 is but it belongs to the original owner and I assume he wants a pretty penny for it. Seeing your video was great and Glen Bunchs car also. It's what these cars were built for and driving it the way you do must be a thrill of a lifetime!! :thumbsup:
