Still a GO Wayne. Maybe Dave will pick me up and take care of me like a long lost brother! Then promptly have me committed.(How nice are the jails in England)? If I tell them I'm really a lesbian trapped in a mans body will they place Eddie in a female facility? BTW, we should accumulate at least 13.00 U.S. from a years donations!:thumbsup:

Start school Monday. I'll be very busy as well, I'm taking a second job,(short order cook), at another restaurant combined with my classes, well, I wont have time for anything. I pick up my block next month with the crank, rods, pistons, rings and bearings so the shortblock will be ready for assembly. I am going broke! I also had to buy new furniture for the home. My wife whom I ragged on constantly, has been pretty good about not saying anything regarding my 'addiction' so I treated her to a new house full of furniture! I had to take the 2nd job for that shortblock! I dont know if I'll have the money Wayne. :(

I am honored Dave. You guys are very good friends,(the best), I am not giving up. I will attempt to save as much as I can and keep you guys posted. One thing I could do next week to ensure my savings 'program' is too get my passport. This way I will be obligated to go and not waste that 185.00 for the passport! :thumbsup:

Youre right Pat! I am stoked, but facing reality, I am gonna save as much as I can and not look back. Only mid aged once then it's geezerhood! I've always wanted to visit England and have before but was too young to remember,(1962), and I was a 5 yr. old kid, I remember some of it, the buses were huge they scared the hell outta me!!My mother told me I got yelled at by the airplane Captain for running around insane and all but I was just a kid. This time I am gonna do it! All of my Credit Cards are paid off, I have the cash for my block already. No stroker kit till I get back from santa Pod!!(It's decided...sorry dave Hughes) :biggrin: :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

I salivate at the oppurtunity, Maybe, some day, we can all meet up at the NAT's. Til' now, it's just you Elete Guy's. Have fun, my E-Body Bro's. :thumbsup: Patrick

Quite right Red. If you even joke about it to the airport or airline staff you will be in big trouble. They have no sense of humor.

Even worse. Every month or so you hear of someone being put in jail for a few days because they made a joke about a bomb in their bag or even said the word bomb in any context at all. Don't even think about making any kind of joke with anyone about anything before, during, or after a flight!!

The term "Geordie" is local slang for the name George.

Why we are all called after George is explained here;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geordie_lamp

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Davy_lamp

George Stephenson (father of Robert the train builder) was a local lad so local miners around here (that is just about everyone not building ships, big guns or fishing) prefered to use his lamp. Most mines around the rest of the country used the Davy safety lamp in the pits. Mainly because they were cheaper for the mine owners to supply.

So it is not an insult. In fact we are proud to be "Geordie lads".

Thanks Dave very interesting! How they also used the Davy lamp for testing gasses. Mining, now theres something that has my utmost respect, I'm afraid of dark, damp, deep, holes :mrgreen:
