Hi guys.

I'm reading to take info about rear ends.

Actually, a 8 3/4 sure grip 3.23 is installed.
The options I'm looking are Strange/Moser/Currie.

Maybe Strange is what I like, the have a lot of info in their page but I'm not sure about some things.

The PRSL 10 from strange is :
S60 housing with leaf springs mounts installed, housing ends, pro race 35 spline axles, 1/2 studs, axle bearings, Pro Lightweight spool, standard gear set???, U1600 pinion yoke (1350), chrome cover, breather....fully set up at $1779.

The same reference but ended with 05 is the same but Trac Lok posi unit and can be upgraded with Power lok or Detroit Locker.
Base price $1849 , Power lok upgrade $215, Detroit Locker upgrade $269.

I think spooled one is only to race, not for street use.
But if I choose the more logical posi trac unit, what's the best option?

They says Trac Lok is just for street and mild track use, maybe Power lok is best option? Not so noisy like Detroit but 25% more traction than Tac Lok.

Mmmm. Getting very technical and out of my range of experience.

If I wanted to know what would be the best axle for my car I would talk to Geof Hauser ( http://www.hauserracing.com ) as he is the sort of bloke that will not sell you stuff you don't need.

He is not the cheapest but he has been building Drag cars from street/strip to Top Fuel for 35 years at least and axles are one of his specialities.

I would use Tapered Timken roller bearings in my Dana or 8 3/4. Some guys use the "Green" ball bearings but they are not as strong laterally. For drag strip use sure the Greens are fine. I use my Challenger on the open roads with a lot of twisty's or Esses, I had the Spicer Trak-Lok rebuilt with new clutch packs and new Timken bearings/races.
