For the blaster coil, I have you in mind, Eddie. I'll take Jon's advice and keep the orange box in the trunk. The other thought I have is, After I get all this gauranteed stuff in my car. What if fat don die's, and I need part's. He laughed at me when I told him that I put in a new orange box C.U. He asked if it ran worse than the old one. I said,"Uh, come to mention it, Yep." With the sputter's my car has with the timing issue's, I think Don has the answer's to my problem. RPM, Airgap still pending. :) He has a shop in Portland, Or., I'll probably just pick up my parts there. I'll keep you guy's posted. Pat

O.K. guy's. I got my ignition package from F.B.O. today. Got some great tip's and advice for install and final tuning, at least for street use. Got some good tip's for the track too. :s004: I'm planning on spending most of the day Saturday To install, stupid work, and stupid arm are holding me back. :x Those guy's really know what they're talking about. In case I didn't absorb all the information, I also got one of Don's sought after "Tuning To Win", books. I think that, and my 73 service manual, will help a lot. I've heard a lot of great thing's about F.B.O. Not a commercial but, for you guy's that haven't heard about them yet, check out 4secondsflat.com. Or call Don himself, 1-(541)-942-5920. He'll tell you all about it. I'll post later in the weekend what I personally think of thier stuff. :D or :rage: . Have a good one guy's. Patrick.

Cool Pat, first be careful with that bicep. If you tear it any further you WILL have to have surgery! Then it will put you back a year! I probably sound like your ol lady but I know you're itching to get that dizzy/box installed. How about your brother-in law? The mechanic guy you were telling me about, can he assist you installing it. It's not really that difficult Pat. Referencing the rotor and the #1 piston/Damper, then pulling the old installing the new, fire it up! I would also get a set of silicone Hi-Po H.D. plug wires if they havent included it in your 'kit'. I like black MSD cause they 'appear' stock. I cant wait to hear the results!

Yep. That's my nephew, the auto tech guy. I got him on board for saturday morning. I've done this before but, just like everything else, it's been a number of year's. My nephew "Mike" work's at an awesome shop. He's got some great tool's and a whole library of tech book's. I already have a brand new set of Taylor 8mm's. I think I have everything I need. If not, there's a whole bunch of auto store's in Vancouver/Portland. :) I'll take it easy on the Left Bicep. The only surgery on that one is going to be total reconstruction. :( And was told by my Docter that my arm wouldn't work as good as it doe's now. :disbelief: Stay Tuned, Pat

Lets see Pat, new dizzy, control box, plug wires(those Taylors are nice are you sure they will fit the cap?), I would get a set of fresh Autolites or NGk's,(I know you use the Autolites and they are also an excellent plug), because you want to dial in the ignition/spark as an established baseline or standard then write all this stuff down in a little black book and keep it with the car. The initial timing and baseline, plug and gap, and advance. This info is valuable and will aid in your tuning and help you learn how to keep it razor sharp!

I got rid of the autolites last month an installed NGK,"GR4GP". Still look great, only 500 mile's on them. The Taylor's are, 8mm Spiro Pro Series. They will fit the cap perfectly. It's the same cap I have on already. Brass, not aluminum contact lead's. Aluminum contact's will melt! The only change I'm going to do to the plug's is, change the gap from 0.35 to 0.40. I'll see how that works. I might go up, I might go down after that. Everything in that kit looks stock. That's one thing I really like about it. These guy's are really proud of their stuff. I'm not talking about the price either. Thank's for the advice, Eddie! I already have a little black book. No, this one is for Mopar. :s002: And am trying to keep track of special setting's. See Ya Later, Patrick

I could tell from reading "between the lines something was amiss" with your old package. The 340 is no slouch. It's not like the ford 351 or chevy 350. It's ready to rock from the get go. You dont have to invest a bunch of aftermarket parts into it to go fast! Glad to hear it runs as it should Pat!
