Speedometer Noise

Postby bradburm » 09 May 2006 19:07

I just got my instrument cluster back from Auto Instruments and they did a fabulous job and I reinstalled it and have Speedo noise........Is it as easy as pulling the cable from the speedo and greasing it?

Also i put a new wood grain decal on the old woodgrain dash, it looks okay but now the other woodgrain areas, like the console and on the doors dont match and look worn.

Any suggestions?

As always Thanks

Year One, right around the corner from you, sells reproduction woodgrain vinyl precut for both the console plate and the door panels. The door panel is the tough one since it has emblems rivited on. I took them off by grinding off the peened over part with a dremel tool so the pins were still there when I put them back. You may want to mask and repaint the black stripe on the door panels while they are off - the new vinyl makes the old paint look shabby as well.
