Engine help!!!!

hey all i am rebuilding a 440 sixpack and i need to know what camshaft to buy for it. I am wanting it to be high performance but i dont want the cam to be to big or strong for the engine. Thank you!

The stock restoration cam with .450 lift is available from MOPAR Performance. If you have power brakes and do not want to add a secondary vacuum canister, the biggest cam you should add (acording to MOPAR Performance) is their .484 lift cam. I am assuming you are using hydraulic lifters and stock rocker arms - you didn't say. I put the .484 cam in my R/T SE, added the MOPAR electronic ignition kit, set the timing at 35 degrees BTDC at 3500 RPM and like how it turned out. If you are using new modern six-pack carbs, you may want to pull the resrtictor covers off the idle mixture screws on the center carb and open them up a bit more, too. I also left the engine at 10 to 1 compression ratio.... works better with pump gas.
