T/A Hood?

I'm having a tough time finding a good aftermarket 70 Challenger T/A hood for my car(not a T/A...but that's the hood I want to run).

Anyone know who makes the best repro...or who has the best prices on one that's not a piece of crap?

I find VFN fiberglass hoods look pretty good. On catalog, that is, I've never seen one in person. They have 2 possible heights for T/A hood scoops, which is pretty good if you need a good-looking hood to top off a big indy-headed engine with a single plane intake manifold...

Thanks for the info...but the search continues.
Just checked out the site...and while the hood looks good...it looks nothing like the stock T/A hood.

Just curious,I've seen that their standard-height hood is sealed below the scoop, but apart from that (and the rear grill section, that's always sealed on fiber repros), what do you think looks different from a stock one ?

I don't know...and it might just be me...
But something about it being sealed below the scoop just seems to give it a completely different look.

The one Year One sells looks very stock. But at $700 is a bit expensive.
No photo on this link but I have seen one before and it looks alright to me.
Just like the stock ones the springs tend to bend the hood up in the middle when closed. But this one is supposed to be stronger than stock so it is not so much of a problem.

Hey D fox, I have just recieved my TA hood from my lcal parts pusher in Norway.(KS Autoparts) and thats a Year one piece, i can recomend it, it fits very nice,looks correct,and has the rear openings with the net in.
Its not the cheapest but is a nice piece i think.

I paid 8000 nkr for ( about 1100) shipping incuded here in Norway.

NOTE: We recommend that the hood springs be used only when the car is displayed with the hood open.

Yeah but like I said it is actually stiffer than the stock original. You know a T/A or AAR has the original hood or not by seeing how much it bows up in the middle.

By the way my price was included one hood pin kit.(But i bougth 2, goin lift of) :lol:

It is strongly recommended that you park the car with the hood open during longer time of storage.

Another approach is to remove the springs from the hood hinges and use some kind of homebuilt rod to keep the hood in open position.

I bought Hood from UP22 Unlimited fiberglass fits nice. Go to their web site and check it out It has a nice finished underside. Their springs were to stiff had to heat them to make soft enough
