Hello. I am trying to install a pioneer cd player in my 73 challenger. Does anyone know of a mounting kit or a way to customize somthing to fit? Any advice would be great. And pics would be a plus.

You can probably find a universal stereo harness that fits your radio at your local parts dealer (NAPA or Autozone, or there : http://www.installer.com/wires/ ) and start from scratch (get a roll of red wire and a roll of black, and an inline fuse holder, too. Get some 1/4" spade terminals and a crimper if you don't have them already).
There are probably no useable wires in the car for the stereo, so just install some red wire and the fuse holder from the fuse block to your harness (there should be at least one spare accessory terminal you can use on the block). Use one female spade terminal for that. Connect the 'on' wire to any switched power source (after the ignition switch) or to the main power (if you chose the latter, you'll have to switch off the CD player yourself, as it won't turn off when you shut down the engine. I would do so, after all, the stereo will only be useable when the engine is off!).
Connect the ground wire to good ground (with a screw anywhere in the metal underneath the dash, with a eye or fork terminal).
Scream 'It's alive!'
. Connect the illumination wire to the headlight switch (you'll have to find which wire to use, I don't remember at all how this switch is wired).
You should be able to get this done without cutting anything in the dash harness, and you should also be able to make a bracket that will use 2 of the unused screw holes underneath the dash.
Don't follow this blindly, but the colors generally are as follows if you get a universal harness (at least that's what they are on ISO harnesses) :
Red : main 12V power (fuse block)
Yellow or orange : switched power (Ignition)
Orange or Yellow : Dashboard lights (for night illumination)
black : ground
the other colors may vary and are used for the speakers.
You can fond most wiring schematics on the net (search for words like 'pioneer stereo harness connector layout'). here are some :

There may be a mute wire, a telephone input wire, etc... you don't have to use them all!
