Inner and outer tie rod ends

This is maybe a stupid question but i ahve to ask it . Is there any difference between inner and outer tie rod ends ? I mean is it possible to use them wrong way ?

One tie rod end has to be left hand thread and the other end right hand thread. I forget which one is the inner and which the outer. Not sure if it matters as long as you have one of each.

They need to be different threads so that as you rotate the rod it gets longer when rotated one way and shorter in the other direction.

Ok thanks i hope it doesnt make a difference how i put complete rod, with one outer and one inner tie rod.

I have had a longer think about it and the only difference it will make is which way you turn it to make it move in or out.

I seem to remember the LH thread ends go to the inside.
