Challengers for Sale

Postby Jon » 29 Oct 2005 14:59

In recent posts several challengers have been for sale using this forum. Member that have contributed to the site and want to sell there vehicals seem like a proper use. However when a new member signs in to auction off their vehical and use the forum as an E-Bay that just seems wrong. If a set price were given that would be maginally acceptable. Joining to auctioning a vehical seems disrespectful to the creators and moderators and all of the hardwork they have put into this site. Thats my 2 cents for what it's worth. I'll be quiet now.

Mmm. I don't know. I am happy to see any and all placed for sale really because there are a lot of people looking for them. At least if they are advertised here we can compare like for like and see what we are getting for the money. Plus of course if anything is described incorrectly we spot it straight away. Like that Hemi Challenger a while ago that was carrying a fake tag and options to try and make a big profit. It is hard to make any untrue claims in front of us lot.

People join this board for a lot or reasons. There are an awful lot that just sign up for the technical info and never post a question. When they have what they need they never log on again. After nine months they get deleted.

I don't mind. I see this place as a service to the owners. Whoever they are. Anything that keeps the cars going and the interest in them growing has to be a good thing yes?

Nope. After thinking about it I really don't mind this place being used as a free ebay. The more cars we see the more we know what is out there.

In fact i am sure we have seen the car you are thinking of on here before you know?

Johannes I think you over reacted a little. But you were right to make us think about what we say.

Jon I get your point but don't get stressed about it. In the big scheme of things it hardly matters. As long as WE make best use of this place that is all that matters.

Advertisers. Advertise what you want. We like to see them. :)

I agree Dave. What better place to ask questions about a car than here? If you see a car you like, ask the seller questions on the thread and the answers will be posted for everyone to read.

Hey Jon!

Gotta tell ya! Ole Dave is spot on!

Think about it. You’ve got a group of foaming mouth Europeans running the BEST Challenger forum in the world. Look at what extremes these wakos will go to! To get parts, information, data bases......Holy Moly!.......I gotta tell ya........if someone tries to pull a fast one..........Keep an eye on Christer from Sweden......he’ll nab em”

If someone throws a turd on the message board.....It will be called for what it is............

A Turd!

P.S. Asking price is just that......Hey! If you’ll give me a bazillion dollars........I’ll gladly accept it. These are specialized cars (i.e., Toys) with a very small following. It’s only worth what someone will pay. The right person, at the right time..............with money.

I get the feeling that you think that I have said/thought/written something wrong/bad/whatever. Fine! No problem. Just tell me what it is, and I will give you an answer why I acted the way I did.

I am not prefect. No-one of us on this board is perfect. I do faults every day, as all of us do. That is the way we are, humans.

When I joined this message board (a couple of years ago), I thought that people did write too few posts so I started writing. Yes, I often question myself whether people really are intrested in what I write. Maybe they are? Maybe not? As a user of this board, you have the privilege to only read the posts/authors that intrests you. That´s a relief, isn´t it? :D

A wako? Well, that is something for others to decide. I am very intrested in Challengers and I try to collect as much information about them as possible. Yes, I have my doubts if it is really worth the effort but I keep on doing it beacuse I like it. Yes, I can keep the information for myself but I like to share thoughts and ideas with others. That is why I am here.

If I have written something that can be interpreted as an offence, then I am sorry for that.

This is a perfect example of evils of beer, American slang, and posting.

Christer, I think you are an incredibly sharp person; you’ve been nothing but kind and gentile.

I was trying to get across the fact that we have a group of Europeans that love and cherish these cars as much if not more than their American counter parts, and are very expert in Challenger facts, data, and myths.

I’ve seen you catch several people posting cars for sale that are listed elsewhere on the net.........and every time those individuals slink off never to heard from again.

If I write something that seems strange, go have several beers and come back and read it again........it may translate better.

Oops, sorry!  It looks as if I got it all wrong then! That´s a relief. Yes, I am trying my best to understand and write in English but it is not very easy all of the time. Lucky me to have a wife who is more skilled in different languages than myself. Yes, I have to admit that I ask her from time to time.

Jono' is right in many respects. Thing do get lost in translation especially after a few "Wiesers". (Slang for beer i.e. Budwiesers) :s019: I have learned that one. Just ask the "Police officer". (Formal english for the guy taking you to jail) :s016: And as for the euro "wakos" that roughly translates as " Extreme interest and knowledge in a particular subject". Kinda like a motorhead :V8: .

But hey most everything can be cleared with communication. The worst thing is to sit back and not respond if you think you have been offended.
I think Dave moved in at the right time to clear things up.
